The lyrics recall some of the best moments of Rival Waves singer/songwriter Joel De La Garza’s youth:

“I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Hwy 100 is the stretch of road that connects my home town to our local oasis of South Padre Island, TX. This is my love song to that stretch of road, that paradise, my friends, & my unique feeling of summer.”

Mohawk proudly presents the “HWY 100” single release show by Rival Waves, featuring the dynamic V3C0 and Buzz Electro.

Rival Waves is set to debut their summer anthem, “Hwy 100,” on digital platforms on Friday, July 19th. This track pays homage to songwriter Joel De La Garza’s youth in the Rio Grande Valley. “Hwy 100” connects his hometown, San Benito, with South Padre Island, embodying a song of innocence, escape, and youthful recklessness—perfect for summer vibes.
