Rival Waves Marks 2 Years of 'A Meaningless Chaos'
Celebrating the LP That Put Rival Waves on the Map
Two years ago, Rival Waves released their debut full-length album A Meaningless Chaos — a bold, sonically charged collection that blended alt-rock, grunge, and punk influences into a modern sound that resonated with fans across the globe.
Today, the band celebrates that milestone with a look back at the music, the momentum, and the memories that have defined this chapter.
From the window clings and album art installations at Waterloo Records to a packed album release show at ACL Live at 3TEN, A Meaningless Chaos wasn’t just an album — it was a movement. It marked the solidification of Rival Waves’ lineup and identity, giving fans an LP full of conviction, energy, and urgency.
The Album That Started the Fire
Recorded at The Bubble Studios in Austin, TX, with producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith, the 11-track LP fused visceral lyricism with powerful production, tackling themes of disillusionment, identity, and transformation.
Singles like “100M,” “NAMI,” and “ISLA3” drew airplay not just in Austin, but in the UK, Australia, and South America, helping the band break out of local circuits and reach international ears.
To date, A Meaningless Chaos has garnered nearly 500,000 streams and continues to pull in new listeners who are discovering Rival Waves through the band’s evolving catalog.
